Hero 3 LCD Locking up in play mode

My meager experience with the LCD touch display has had it lock up underwater in apparent uncommanded "play" mode during two of the three dives now taken. Pressing any button has no effect. I suspect that the flexible back panel must be applying pressure to multiple key spots on the back panel, thus causing this. Sadly I did not bring the rigid back door.

any suggestions or other similar experiences?

It's not for use underwater.

Mine did that last week while playing around with it in the house, dive case with LCD.

Don't use that flexible back panel for diving. Its only water resistant to 10 ft I believe. After testing I've actually done away with the LCD back panel as the battery drain isn't worth the meager ability it gives you to properly frame a shot a depth.
