Here comes Choi-Wan

Looks like our public holiday on Tuesday will be a bit windy if it carries on the current track 75knts with 90knt gusts.

Sounds like a good day to snuggle up in bed!

Well, the hurricane is headed inland and down graded to a tropical storm.

The Texas A&M @ VT game went as scheduled with VT ultimately winning this battle 35-19..

Today, NASA has a great photo up of Isabel. Its taken from way up high in the sky and is the view that an astronaut would have! What a view from the space station!

Well Izzy is gone, NJ survived a mostly wind event. BradfordNC - you had me rolling! Everything you say is too true - except you forgot that in any emergency the required food list includes bread, milk & eggs - my guess is that everyone eats french toast during emergency situations. Oh - we did have one weather reporter swept for 3 blocks when he decided to show us how fast 2 feet of surge really flows & another get a camera destroyed by a 5 foot swell that "just appeared out of nowhere."

I went to the beach house yesterday right before the height of the storm - it was very windy, horizontal rains, street flooding, water over the bulkheads & docks under water on the bay side, enormous ugle grey surf, the howl of the ocean was awesome, these are the days I'm glad I can't afford a beach front house!

That is a remarkable picture taken from space. The ones they showed as Isabel was getting started out in the Atlantic were amazing, as well. She was almost perfectly symmetrical in shape, right down to the eye.

Isn't something how you can see those State border lines from outer space but you don't notice them when you are driving down I-95. :)

Totally agree... sometimes, while scarey on the ground, from a perspective 200 miles above the earth and looking down, that scarey stuff is very beautiful. Sometimes awe inspiring. One day I hope to have the opportunity to look down and see it.... till then I am content with NASA's snapshots :)
