Yesterday Conch Republic divers reported that they saw 2 manta rays at this reef(from the boat)

We decided to check it out today. Viz was around 30-40 feet which is fantastic for this inshore reef. The water temp on my buddies computer said 70 and my boat GPS said 71(cold!!!!)

No seas no current and no clouds.

We did see the Manta ray from the surface but no pix(one)

Plenty of Angel fish, grouper, couple of Snook.

While surfacing I noticed a remora attached to the hull of my boat, pretty funny

The 2 Manatees at the dock were very nice to see

Looks like Wednesday will be nice early.

Love finding the Snook at Hens & Chickens. Glad the manatees are still hanging out...thanks again for sharing.

Damn...how do you get everything to pose for you like that :rofl3:

Great shots!

Pity you didn't see the two Manta Rays on Hens and Chickens a few days ago. Everyone on the boat saw them, but were not ready to dive so only saw them as they swam by the boat. I've never seen divers get their gear on so fast.....LOL
Heard from the offshore fishermen that they are seeing them in deep water. Know they have come through this area in the late January and early to mid February.

Good Diving,

Chickens is one of my favorite places to dive. You never know what might pop up.

nice pix..... i still wonder how it got the moniker hens & chickens? since a hen is a female chicken?
I read somewhere that from above it looks like a mother with her chicks, who knows :rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:
