I know alot of the old 4B tanks were rated at 300psi and used mostly for Acetylene............ICC-4B500...........
Based on the hint of threads showing at the valve I think this is a fuel gas cylinder, propane seems most likely. There are also crown neck threads for a cap (which no scuba tank ever has), 500psi is too high for acetylene. Even with a scuba valve (which wont exist) this tank wouldn't have much breathable air at all. It is definitely not a scuba valve or scuba tank crown, or threading. The dimensions and threads of the nipple and nut (that are in the valve outlet) should identify the class of gasses that the cylinder was used for. If the nut has reverse threads, it was used for fuel gas -- propylene, acetylene, propane, etc.
