Like an idiot, I bought a cheap red filter for my GoPro off Amazon. It was this cheap little red piece of plastic that fits inside the housing. I DIDN'T know it was that cheap when I ordered it, but alas, it was too late to order a new one before our trip to Roatan. We are here now and the filter worked good for the first couple of dives. I went to clean it yesterday and all of the red smeared and it is now ruined and can't be used. I have been taking video with no filter and its obvious the colors aren't good.

So, what are my options? We are going to try to hit the West end of the island today and try to find a new one, but wondering if there is anything I can do with the non-filtered footage. I have the Adobe cloud so I can use all of the programs they offer. Is there a way to color correct after the fact, or am I out of luck with the footage?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shoot something known to be white - even a patch of sand will work - if possible at the depth you're filming at. It will make color correcting later much easier since it gives you a reference point for the software.

Try the Mares store - they sell GoPro accessories. https://www.facebook.com/Marestorehn

Pole for INTOVA & GoPro at 39 US$ !! and more grate accessories available at Roatan Mares Store in West End!

This is news to me also but a quick Google Search reveals that Wil Welbourn (who I know) lists this on LinkedIn.
I have a Scuba Equipment Retail store and am the Honduran distributor of Cressi dive equipment as well as being a dealer of Oceanic, Oxy Cheq, Diverite, Fantasea, GoPro and Trident dive equipment.

Wil is the MSDT at Coconut Tree Divers - as you enter the West End they're the big building on the left. If he's not there, PJ or Gay - one of the owners should be. Gay (female) knows everyone/thing in the West End.

This morning we are diving the odyssey then turtle crossing. After the dives we are being dropped off on the west end to go shopping and goof off for a couple of hours, then take a taxi back to Turquoise Bay. I will check the shops you recommended. Really appreciate the info.

my current SJ4000 hasn't got a filter, but I have been color correcting in the video editing software. I am using a set of pre-sets, but when I look at what it is doing, it leaves the blues alone, increases the reds by 30% and decreases the greens a similar amount. the results are pretty similar to the effect of the red filter. A white placard like a dive slate will give you good color reference. video below was edited using the software filters I mentioned.
