dang...had it all written and lost it....so again.
I don't have much luck converting pictures to B&W with PS, the picture gets so washed out, so I use my old trusted PictureIt! program and made the picture B&W. You would not believe the # of pictures I have saved by using this feature.
After saving the picture I switch to PSE3 and clone out the backscatter. Using the selection tool I selected the background and blurred it with Gaussian Blur (0.8 pixel). I then used the selection tool and selected the shark, enhanced it by playing around with contrast and brightness. Next step is to add a touch of blue, in some pictures B&W looks so dead. Finally I cropped the picture, getting rid of the stuff that distracts from the shark. Hope this helps.
