I think the link you used requires you to be logged into the GUE forum in order to view it (since you and presumably others trying to see the image are not currently logged into GUE through IE, it shows up as a broken link in that browser). It's not an IE/Firefox issue. You just need to get a URL for the picture that's not behind a host requiring registration. :)

Try using this url:
Code:
http://imgur.com/lprGe.jpg

Oh . . . maybe that's it. I didn't think of it, because I'm registered -- but I don't use IE, so maybe the cookie isn't there for the GUE site.

Also, if you post the image with a direct link to the GUE site, where you need to be registered to see images, nobody else will see it (unless they too have a cookie from that site).

Your best bet is to save the image locally on your computer, and then upload it to a photobucket or your SB Photo gallery, and then post that image. :)

I think the link Kenn put up worked.

I didn't realize there was a cookie problem until I tried to look at it with IE on my computer, which clearly didn't have the cookie, as I had never visited the site using IE.

Yes, and as I was saying... The image he posted is hosted at another site. In his case, imgur.com is where the image is located, not the GUE site you're referencing. :)

If you host the image yourself, you won't have problems. If you try to link directly to an image behind a login protected site, it may not appear for everyone on SB or another forum.

I understand. I should have asked Guy where the image was actually hosted.

:yeahbaby: We're going to be in Playa del Carmen that week!!!

Thanks, Lynne!! :hugs:

Okay, since the thread is not marked "Solved:"

How do I display this image in the post?

I've tried various forms of URL & IMG, and order thereof, and the best I got was a thumbnail.

You are copying & pasting the URL to the PAGE where the Image is located, not the image itself. most images end in .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .png, etcetera
