Help/Suggestions - Snorkeling across the Lakes in Northern Pakistan

Hi everyone,
I am planning to snorkel across some high altitude lakes in Pakistan. Diving is not a very mature sport in Pakistan specially in the North. I have gained some free diving and snorkeling experience during my 6 years stay in the Middle east where there are countless sandy beaches with warm water. These lakes on the other hand are freezing cold.
