The Suunto Vyper is also a very nice Air/Nitrox computer. I bought two, for me and the wife, from Leisure Pro less than a year ago and they've been working great.

The vyper is a great starter/intermediate computer.

Cheers.

Another vote for the Oceanic Veo 180. I love mine. Easy to read, simple to use, and does everything I want and expect to grow into. That's a great deal at LP.

Aeris XR-2 for me hands down best piece of gear I purchased. Air/Nitrox and all features you need such as backlight, safety stop counter, dive simulator and a bunch of other useful stuff

yes the veo 180 will do gauge mode, hard to beat for a 180 dollars,i have been diving mine since march without any issues or wished i had bought anything else.I bought mine on sale in march for 250 dollars and was the best deal i could find anywhere on a nitrox computer.

I bought 2 of the Veo 180NX from LP for $200 each plus the USB download cable for $75 a few months ago. Even though I'm not looking to do Nitrox anytime soon it does have that capability. I also like the wrist since we rent gear.

The only complaint I have is that it is difficult to get the download cable to work properly. It takes multiple attempts and then some cleaning of the contacts. It might be a problem with the particular cable I have since I have the same problem with both computers. I'd be interested to know if others have the same problem.

All in all, I am happy with them and particularly at the price I paid (even better at $180!).

A vote for the Aeris XR-2 I have about 60 dives on mine. Great computer.

I'll also recommend the Cressi Archimede II (Also sold as Tusa IQ-700, Apeks Quantum, and Dive Rite Duo) which is made by Seiko. I've had my Archimede (the older model) for almost 5 years now and have only had to replace the battery once. I like the reliability and large numbers. I've just bought a Dive Rite Duo because I want to use it's two-gas feature.
