Hi folks,

I've been using the Halcyon Pioneer 27 lbs. wing for about 80 dives and it has performed well. In my last few dives I noticed a stream of tiny bubbles and an irritating droning sound from the inflator hose. This is the older model with a plastic knob. The leak seemed to be coming from the knob which inflates the bladder. Does anyone know how this can be repaired? What tools are required? Hopefully, someone will provide me with some info before I attempt to repair it myself, or wreck it in the process. If this is a serious problem maybe it's better to send it back to the distributor who is in S'pore, a couple of hundred miles from where I live.

Thanks for any help.

Any brand of inflator failure can range from your wing spontaneously inflating (I know a guy this has happened to - the inflator button fell off!), to the inflator not being able to dump or hold air. I would not dive the wing until it is fixed or replaced. Might be easier to just replace the inflator yourself if shipping the wing is an issue.
