Hey All:

I'm planning my first trip to Ginnie Spirngs and Devil's Den in less than two weeks. Also gonna be doing lots of other diving around Florida area in the week. . I've seen lots of diff ideas regarding how to dives so I figure I'll turn to my core-group here the GLWRC. Who's been to Ginnie and/or Devil's Den. . . What should I expect? What gear should I absoulutely make sure I have with me. What am i gonna need to do there to check in, what can I expect? Should we dive Nitrox?

Also any boat operators suggestions (on the gulf side) out of the Tampa/Sarasota area.

Any help or words of wisdom would work.

Thanks,
Mike

you can certainly use nitrox if you want, but ginnie and devil's are quite shallow & you won't need it for extending your time or anything.

you'll need your normal gear, wetsuit for 70-ish water, lights, and lots of money since you'll always go shopping! check out cave excursions and extreme exposure near ginnie, and the shop at ginnie is nice, too. bring water and snackage. bring something to stand on to change so you have a chance of leaving as much of florida in the parking lot as possible.

have a great trip.
