Looks like an old IST piston first stage I had. It was a copy of something else and sold as IST.

I my memory serves correctly, I believe it's a Tekna first stage. (An old Scubapro Mark V clone.)

They've been gone for something like 15 to 20 years.

The second stage looked much like an Oceanic Omega.

Chad has it right. The first stage pictured is the old TEKNA a clone of the SP MK V. The second stage was based on the Poseidon pilot valve design.

That second stage was bugger to try to fix!

It's little wonder Tekna flamed out... too much flash in the pan!

That first stage was also used by Oceanic, Tekna, is a ScubaPro clone and was used on some other units as well. As to the quote, you either liked them or you did not and I did and here 20 years later I still dive mine and to this date nothing I have ever used can flow more air at depth or is as small or lightweight. It has been my experience that divers are a conservative bunch and that anything that parts from the hubcap in the mouth design is frowned upon regardless. N
