Hello All & Happy New Year!
Quick question for all the Mares Puck Mission 3 Console owners/users out there:

What does the back side of the console look like behind the Puck? Is there supposed to be an additional protective cover to protect the Puck computer from bumps & scrapes? I just got my console yesterday & it just seems odd that the back of the Puck computer is "exposed". If someone could please let me know when you get a chance.

Thank you in advance,
Joe

Hi Joe,

Just to ease your concerns. There is not a back cover to the Puck computer consoles. This is intentional to give you access to the battery compartment as well as the contacts for the PC interface. A quick rinse in freshwater inbetween dives is all that's needed.

I recommend using a small clip w/ a retractor and attach to a D-ring up high on your bcd. This will lower your profile in water, as well as keep the console from possibly dragging along the bottom and potentially scratching the back / front of the console.

This is a good design opposed to an enclosed console. This eliminates unneeded stress on the console trying to remove the computer when it comes time to change batteries .

Enjoy your new computer!

Happy New Year,

Wow, thank you Zak for the prompt response! I hope to enjoy my new computer for my dive trip to Fajardo & Vieques PR. Happy New year to you too!

Joe
