Hi All,

Now that we are home from Cozumel and have all our pics developed we are trying to id all of the fish. We got the Reef Fish ID book (along with the coral id and creature id) but we just can't seem to find this fish!!! Can anyone help? Hope the thumbnail link shows up! If not, I'll repost.

It looks to be the bicolor variation of a Coney. Check pg 160 of your Reef Fish ID. Among others, it mentions the two dots on its lower lip and 2 dots behind the dorsal.

I agree with Otter. It's a classic example of a Coney, Bi-color phase. The two dots on the lower lip and behind the dorsal fin are the clues. You'll also see Coney's as solid red with torquoise spots, brown with tan spots, and the rarer solid golden yellow.

Hi,

Thanks!!! Not sure how I missed that page!!! Appreciate the help! :luxhello:
