intentionaly placed slashes in my wetsuit, Why and whom are not an issue, unless I had definitive proof, but I have 11 slashes ranging from 1 inch to nearly 4 inches in various parts of my nearly new wetsuit a 3 mill Henderson GoldCore, and yes all go right through, can these be fixed by myself or am I and the suit SOL?

Fishkiller, I have fixed my Scubapro 3ml where the seam busted. sew it with nylon thred then put aquaseal on it and let it dry 24hr.:tree:

F K,
That stinks-to be extremely, overly polite.
Algulfdiver speaks the truth regarding a possible fix.
I had a 2" curved slice in my new (3 dives) Goldcore 3mm suit- and the sew/aquaseal worked very well.
Just be sure to match up both sides of the slashes-especially the "gold" side. If I remember, I"sealed", let dry-keeping it flat and set in place, sewed only the nylon- I tried to not sew through the gold polymer(?), then sealed again. Maybe overkill, but it worked! No problems with the repair after approx 35 dives. Warm water dives, although I doubt that would matter.
BTW, I also used something called "cotol-240" (sp??), which came with the Aquaseal, that was an accelerator for the aquaseal- same results.

Da**-it ticks me off to hear about such mindless vandalism.Have you checked your other gear- a slashed suit is a MAJOR annoyance ,and expensive- but a screwed-with regulator could be life and death.)
Hope this works,
MikeD

This is very bad....
I agree with Miked....check the rest of your gear - thoroughly!

Glue first.... then after it sets & cures .....
Stitch on the outside rather than the inside for comfort's sake....

I will sleep better, can close one eye. Everything else seems to be fine and untouched, but will still test out in a pool.
the other question I have is what brands or type of nylon thread should I get, at the store? (I will be going to get a circle type sewing needle and a copy of a Frankenstien movie).

Don't use nylon...it absorbs water, lengthens and becomes loose...

Use polyesther....you can get it at fabric store or sewing machine center.... get heavy duty and use a regular straight needle.... and get *Young Doctor Frankenstien*..... you need some humor...

Is this the work of "Demon Kitty"?

but a demon in some form..the holes are cuts with a knife type instrument.

Everything else works fine, in the pool.

The LDS was out of aquaseal but should be "in" any day.

I find 3 mil material is extemly hard to fix well not for anything durable anyways ... best thig is at that amount of cuts to look for thomthing new.
