I haven't stayed at CP, but have been to CC three times. We'll be there next week for the fourth ... and the Fourth. I love shore dives and night dives. My wife (and dive buddy) often prefers not to do either. I have never had a problem finding a dive buddy at CC for afternoon shore dives or night dives.

And, I've never felt crowded on the Divetech boats, either.

Right now I'm leaning toward Compass Point arriving around the end of July for 10 days.

To be honest, I can't really find anything wrong with either place. CP includes a vehicle for the whole stay. Since this is my first time ever to Grand Cayman I like having a vehicle. They use Avis so I get an upgrade by two models so it will be fun to see the whole island, run to the store.. etc. There are a few other things I like about CP, their 1 bedroom units look great and have full size washer and dryer for mid-stay T-Shirt / Shorts laundry. Since I will be traveling as a single diver I don't have a better half to take out every night for dinner (not that that is a bad thing) so food isn't a problem. I like out of the way resorts, especially on the first visit.

I agree with gb_williams about finding a buddy, never seems to be a problem but CP runs a boat every day for afternoon dives so I will get to see more of the dive sites on the east end via boat vs. the shore.

I will probably drive up to CC to see the operation so I will know if I made the right choice. It's always a roll of the dice when visiting a new island, but from all I've read I don't think I can go wrong picking either place. Plus it will be fun visiting several of the resorts after looking at the pictures for the last month or so.

Thanks for all the info and suggestions. I will post a trip report when I return.

Thanks for the posts. Want to go myself and have been looking at CP so info has been very helpful!
