:06: I purchased a Inon D180s for my canon A70.....of course the manual/instructions are in chinese. I don't know how to put it together..can someone out there please help me. i can't seem to be able to attach the strobe to the ULA....and all the other stuff that comes with it...now i have to do it and get used to it within 2 weeks of my trip. any help would be great. thanks

thanks, but that doesn't really tell me how to set it up.....i have some little parts that i have no clue where they go..for instance their is 2 pieces of blk film that go somewhere..but, where is the ??? and 3 piece of a cut out felt..???

Hmmm...if that is like for my 220s then the film goes over the actual on camera flash and the black stuff is the "frame" for the film coz it has the sticky stuff on it.

Hopefully LukeRob, whom I think uses the 180, will pop in today to help...

Ok....i found out that's where it goes...on the camera itself...now should it be used?? or is it just an option? and if you don't use it will it make much of a difference???

Now also the blk diffuser that comes with it...it has a metal piece attached to it....now am i correct to say that's where the fiber optic cable goes onto? and when attached to the housing itself it's crooked?

I guess you need to test it out (on land is fine).

I have to use it with my Oly 5050. Never used it on the Canon BUT I am going to play with that today as Oly is away and I need to use the Canon A70 tomorrow with the Inon for the first time...I'll let you know what happens...

I think the metal piece on the diffuser is actually the screw that holds it onto the strobe head?

The cord goes to the knob thing on the bottom of the strobe then the other end gets lightly screwed onto the difuser of the housing itself. The wire goes into a little hole in the black rectangular plactic bit that attached to the housing...confused?

Ok...i got it to work...now the strobe only works if the camera flash is on...otherwise the strobe won't fire....is that how it's supposed to be used? ya, and it's all very confusing....

It gets easier! :D

Yes, your camera needs to fire to trigger the optical cable. Make sure your in camera flash is set to its minimum setting...all it is doing now is triggering the strobe, not providing illumination itself. Your strobe now provides all the illumination...
