Greetings to you all!!

My name is Mike Venios and I live close to the sea
in Palaio Faliro, 8 km from Athens Greece.
I am sure I will enjoy sharing this place with you.

Hey! I visited Holland some time ago (Amsterdam, Volendam,
and some other fine places)
I was working for Ajax Holland Fire Protection (Ajax De Boer BV.)
If you ever come to Greece let me know
Regards
Mike

Howdy Mike and welcome to Sb.com :thumb:

It is certainly nice to have another Greek with us. Hope you will tell you friends about us too. :)

Welcome Mike,
I understood there are quite a few restrictions on diving in Greece as the government doesn't want unlicensed people recovering antiques.
Is this still so?
Can you dive wherever you want or do you have to restrict your activites to designated regions/sites?

Thank you Miketsp,
You are right there are still some restrictions; however there is a new law which (hopefully) will be signed in the summer, designed to allow the development of underwater tourism.
This will have a tremendous effect on those opposing all underwater activities other than military and commercial.

Thank you DandyDon,
You have no idea how many divers in Greece visit SB to get information.
Why they don’t join? I can’t give you an answer!

Well, tell them to come, visit, and get information all they want, as they are certainly welcome as guests anytime. There are usually as about as many guests as members on at any given time.

But it is even better when you join and participate. :dazzler1:
