I've loved reading this board for the last few months so it's about time I introduce myself!

My SCUBA adventure is finally under way. I found the instructor I want, had the required knee surgery, and have made it through physical therapy!

Monterey Bay here I come. (Well probably next month, and yes, I'm counting the days!)

Regards,
Sarah

Welcome to membership on SB. Enjoy the new world you will be experiencing. After Monterey you may be looking for warmer water!

Quite possible.

Hopefully I'll suffer for the love of the area and move on to a dry suit....

Stay tuned.. I may run back with my tail between my legs and fly home to Australia to warm up for a while.

I dive Monterey with a 7 mil, it's really not that bad. By the time you suit and drag all you stuff in you really look forward to the nice cool water. It starts getting a little cold around 50 mins into the dive but then again that's about long enough and it time to get out. Getting back to warm water after diving with a 7 mil hood and gloves is just liberating :)

Greetings and enjoy your foray into this amazing activity.
