Hey, first I would just like to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day

But, I was born and raised most of my in Florida...St. Augustine and Daytona. I am currently stuck in the crappy, most boring state of North Carolina, where I am 4 hours away from the nearest beach, which only has like 2 foot waves.

After I graduate this year from Highschool, I am moving down to the Florida Keys to go to the little community college. I am going to get certified to be a scuba instructor and hopefully get a job down there. My friend is also moving down there with me, but he doesn't want to dive. I just love warm weather and the ocean, so I thought what could be better than being a diver, and living on the beach for the rest of my life.

Well, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone .

Welcome to the board and come back often as there is lots of information and advice to be found here ( good and bad :54: )

You may even want to do a post on what is the best way to become an instructor and how to get the experiance and knowledge you need. I am sure you will get LOTS of feedback.

Funny - I flew to North Carolina twice to dive the waters off of your coast, and will again this year.

Hey! There's very cool diving in NC. Just ask one of the hundreds of North Carolina divers that read this board. You can recognize them because they'll be the ones yelling at you for calling their state crappy and boring. NC has the best wrecks and also lots of big fish with pointed teeth. As for "what could be better than being a diver, and living on the beach for the rest of my life?" Nothing.

Buffet Fan and Diving...No way, it really doesn't get any better than that. Sorry for calling this state crappy and boring, I just never have dived here before ...just live out in the woods.
I really dont know what agency, I might go with...what do you think would be the best?

as for agency, everyone will tell you that it's the instructor that counts. shop around for a good instructor, not an agency.
