Hello,

I'm not certified. I have limited diving experience from vacation diving in the Caribbean and Australia. I love it but have never invested the time to take a certification course :dontknow: . I guess part of the hesitance is the coooold water final dive in Monterey, CA. ;) I have never bothered to coordinate taking a class to take the final dive in a warm water location. I love being in the water.

With our weed problem (Egeria densa) getting progressively worse our here in the Delta (Discovery Bay, CA), I have spent A LOT more time this year free diving to pull this stuff. I could do a much more efficient job if I could stay down there pulling. There are some services out here and I believe they use some sort of snuba as opposed to tanks.

Anyway, I thought I'd introduce myself here and see if someone might have some thoughts to share on surface air diving. I posted in the DIY thread here:

No ideas on your original question, but I'd just like to say that the "cooold" water diving in Monterey is fabulous, and well worth the effort. Take a look at some of Gombessa's videos, or some of rhlee's or opisthobranch's photography!
