Hi Everyone!

Just signed up and wanted to say hello. We recently moved to Ticonderoga from West Virginia so I'm trying to get aqainted with the local dive community. Anyone out there from "The North Country"?

I also have a trivia question about my ReactPro dive computer. I just changed batteries and I still get an "ALE" message when I power up the unit. Did I get an old battery that's been on the Rite-Aid shelf too long?

Thanks in advance for the tech help.

~Steve

Hey Steve, welcome to SB, good luck on your stay in upstate NY, SB is the place to find your dive buddies.

Howdy! I live in the Albany area.. send me a PM if you want to do any diving around here! Champlain has some pretty neat wrecks.. and if you're up for a weekend, the Brockville - 1000 Islands region is 4-5 hours away and has a ton of *amazing* freshwater wrecks..

Don't know what to say about your puter. Try our computer forum.

My roomie is from upstate NY. I've been on Utila all week, having a blast with the diving and the resort.

Thanks Jonnythan!

I'm just getting started in my new job at the hospital and am in the process of marrying 2 daughters and shipping the third off to Coastal Carolina University. That said, most of my dives have been at Lake George. After next week things should slow down and I'd like to take you up on a Champlain dive.

How's the viz in that lake? Lake George impresses me! What a sharp thermocline though! Yikes it gets 'nippy' down there! Spring fed for sure.

Talk to you later.

Steve,

Welcome to ScubaBoard,
I see Tavi has shown you the LED website, don't know if you have found the Lake Effect Divers spot on this board. Check it out. Hope you get involved !

Hi Steve and welcome aboard,

I am 'new' to Upstate too and nearly all my dives have been in Lake George (a few in Indian Lake, Raquette Lake and Forked Lake up North), don't know how close they are to you. Champlain has been on the list for awhile but I actually ended up on this thread by searching for Brockville... hi again Jonnythan! You seem to be knowing about everything!
What can you tell about Brockville? Buddy and I have a week off after this week and toyed with the idea of driving up to Brockville and doing some of the easier wrecks there... the ones that are shore access. Would be our first river dives. Any good suggestions for diver-friendly accomodation too?
Also, still interested in your offer of taking a look at your BP/W (or other bits of your gear) Jonnythan. Any nights next week that you might be around at LG? Would it be ok to PM you about that?
Where at Lake George you hang out Steve? We found out a sour fact about Rogers Rock a couple fo weeks ago, lottery campers prevented our access to the ledge...

cheers,
piikki
