Hello everyone,

Pleasure to be a part of the community. All the information I've gathered from here thus far has been extremely helpful.

So here's my equalization question. My left ear blows out air and pops like a breeze. No issues at all.

My right ear though... it just feels like it's stuck. I can feel pressure when i do the tounge thing, but it doesn't feel like it's releasing like my left ear is. Sometimes I can sort of wiggle my shoulder and my neck and I can feel the air coming out, but it's difficult and not consistent.

I'm sure I'll get the hang of it by practicing, but I was wondering if anyone on here had any tips or tricks as to what I can do to get my right ear to "pop" better.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

and about the other thing

Welcome Steve, best advice is really just to equalize early and often. You can perform your preferred maneuver even before you get in the water. Maybe move your jaw around and see if you can find a position that opens your right ear.

Whatever method you use to equalize: start at the surface, descend slowly, equalize every couple of feet (or continuously if your method allows) until you get to around 25 feet then maybe every 5. If you get stuck, ascend a couple of feet and try again.

equalize multiple time as soon as you get down, gently dont rush or force it. If you feel pain you stop go up a little and resume.

Be safe
