G'day everyone!

I'm brand new to this board and I have the diving bug all over again!!! I have been PADI certified since 1992, but I only total about 20 dives. 6 of those were recently on the Great Barrier Reef and that is why the bug is back!!:)

I'm an American living in Australia for the past 2 years for work. Can you believe I had not been diving in Oz until last week?? It was great!

Well, I'm about to move back to the States (Northern California) in a few months and I will be looking to dive a lot more regularly and get some advanced certifications. I will be looking to buy my gear too. :) I hope to see you around.

Thanks!
Eric.

G'day mate! Welcome aboard!! 6 dives on the GBR is quite a way to get that bug back :) My wife dove the GBR back in '99 from a place called Heron Island and to this day still raves about it.

Since your moving to NorCal you may be interested in the California Kelp Divers forum located underScubaBoard Clubs. I'm sure that you'll find lots of buddies there to help fuel that dive bug! There are also a number of other great forums avaible... feel free to drop in and leave your 2psi anywhere :D

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

Since you have a few months there, go ahead and get your AOW there. Some refresher course training would be good, too, as long as you were dry...

Glad you found us! This is a great place to spend your SI, but watch out, it's addictive!

When you do head back, here's the forum for the CA folks California Kelp Divers

G'day Eric, Welcome to the Scuba Board. I've been to OZ twice and loved it both times. Sydney is really neat. Of course when I was there I was not yet into "diving mode", can you believe that! Welcome aboard!

Hi and welcome! I can't believe you didn't do more diving while in Australia! Sure, the reef isn't that close to Sydney, but there should be decent diving around there too. You should check it out before heading home! :)
