Just got certified May 2003. I had bought all my equipment before I even started class, by the time I did my 3rd. dive I thought I had made a big mistake, I was not comfortable at all with this new sport but had way too much money into it to back out. By the time I had 8 dives in I thought this might be ok, was feeling better about it, now with 30 dives this year, I am having the time of my life with it. I just came back from AZ. where I did two dives, and will be leaving Jan. 15th. for 10 days of diving in Bonaire. I am now 51 yrs. old and am wondering why I did not start this 30yrs. ago. I use to fly a airplane in the 70's and this is as close to flying with out wings as one can get. I am having a great time now, if you have been thinking about this but think that the time is not right, stop thinking because time is running out, with the right training you can be having the time of your life too. Have A Safe Dive, Dave

Welcome to Scuba Board!!

So glad to hear you stuck with it and are now enjoying it!

And Bonaire should be a nice break from St Cloud in January ;) I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back as I have never been there but love to see the photos of those who have.

No experience needed and it feels great!

Hello Dave and welcome! Glad you stuck with it and saw it through! If I had judged diving on my certification dives, I would have quit. But after the first time I did a backwards roll into the Carribean off the coast of Mexico, wow!

Welcome to the board, if you want to dive around the Brainerd lakes area, let me know, there is some really good diving in the crosby mine pits. Very good vis, and lots to see.(i'm about ready to chop a hole and go!!) dive safe!!

Hi Chris, We will have to get together sometime and dive there, I do dive there a lot with Todd and his group. I have been wanting to do some dives out on the Whitefish Chain, we have a cabin up there, we have a deck boat with a swim platform on the back of it, and it works good to dive from, you will have to come out and dive with me sometime, would like to get a group together for a weekend up there and dive, I was down on Lower Whitefish once and it was real good diving. I will be leaving Jan. 15th. for 10 days in Bonaire with my wife and 2 step-sons, both boys dive. Thanks for the invite, will talk to you later, Dave
