Hi there, not technically a new diver but might as well be after taking 13 years off.
I was 21 and living in Hawaii on a short job assignment. After spending far too much time in the bars I decided to find a more productive way of spending my time so I signed up for my PADI open water. I really enjoyed that so I went and bought all my gear and signed up for my advanced open water. Completed my advance open water then moved back to the mainland and in storage my gear went. Fast forward 13 years and here I am going through a SDI training class as a refresher along with my girlfriend who decided to get certified finally. Certification dives in catalina in a couple weeks and I can't wait to get back into diving. Might even sneak off for a dive with a friend before then.
A little about me. My name is Matt. I'm 34 years old lving in Southern California, Riverside to be exact. I work in the IT field by day. Come the evenings I wrench on dirt bikes. Just about every weekend the girlfriend and I can be found in the desert racing off-road dirtbike. We have a short break during the summer so we decided to get our feet wet.
I came across this site while looking for DIY scuba projects. Looks like there are quite a few liked minded people as myself that would rather spend hours in the garage making something rather than spend money buying it. Look forward to learning a lot here, and hopefully provide you with some entertainment. I usually live up to my screen name so watch out!
