Did someone call?

Welcome to another beer swilling, hockey stick wielding, freeze your whatsis off Canuck diver! And it does seem that the center of gravity is shifting each day ever so slightly north...Oh well, at least the quality of the Canadian Bacon will improve down here...

Welcome, Hawk! be sure to come back regularly and regale us with the stories of your diving...and there are always stories!

Joewr...nothing particullarly creative to add here, at this time...

...with your OW course. As miked said, try and get as much practice in and ask as many questions as you can. Soon you will be in the clutches of scuba addiction, the only addiction that should be encouraged! Just remember when you're doing your course to try and relax and enjoy yourself - you'll do just fine.

(and Stingray, the cheque's in the mail... :p)

Maybe a little late but welcome N1HAWK. I'm next door in the big smoke.

Drop me an e-mail and let me know who you are going to do your course with. Don't be a stranger cause we(the Ontario and hopefull the other Great Lakes folk) plan on getting together often next year and we'll need a dive-sherpa....I mean dive buddy :D

From another new poster.

Another Canadian eh. I guess in due time we'll be hearing about the joys of cold water! Psych happy for your OW class - It'll start one of the best experiences to be had!

Greetings from WARM Central TX!

so what you're trying to say is, there was major or almost major shrinkage factor???

I am a BND = Brand New Diver and am here to tell you that being under the sea and having that feeling of being weightless is one of those precious moments in your life....you go for it and you will see.
Good Luck

Welcome to boards N1Hawk

Well, at least learning to dive in March will prepare you for the cold from the start....sort of a trial by fire thing.

By the time we arrived at the dive site last night, there was a nice layer of ice covering the back end of the boat from spashing water. Water was 46F but wow the water was clear (a definite benefit of the cold). Air temp was a little harsh though (hence the ice).

Cheers
