tarzana,

Welcome to ScubaBoard! Wish I had your hobby!

wetrat,
Planning and guiding tours is a fun filled hobby that I have done for almost 20 years on and off.... jungle, dive, turtle and cultural trips in Panama, dive trips to Galapagos, Palau and Yap,,, and soon to Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae. it is a lot of work putting it together and a bit tiring during the trips but, I am happy to say all that I have organized have been a great success!

Mabuhay! Welcome aboard!

Clgsamson,

Puerto Galera was #22 on a list of best places to dive in the world. Could you kindly tell me about the best dive sites there? Do you know a good place to stay for divers? I am contemplating organizing a tour there for spring break.

Thanks to everyone who has sent a warm welcome!

Well Tarzana if you ever need a dive buddy let me know I'm always looking and Im sure it wouldn't be too hard to arrange something seeing how this island is only like 63 miles long.....Tim

Sounds like great trips. You have a lot of dives? Do you Instruct, too, or just dive a lot?

And don't be shy about posting. Click Forums above, tour the long list of choices, and jump in anywhere you're qualified. PM me with any questions, and I'll try to find a pretty good answer.

DandyDon,

I have been certified for 30 years... I actually have stopped counting but not stopped diving.... who knows maybe there are more dives that 1000!

Tim, will let you know. There is but another tropical storm brewing near Yap now that is due to hit us this weekend....hopefully I will be able to go out on the Kadena Marina boat on one of these weekends. Do you dive with them? I don't if you were on the island last year but the weather gods owe us big time here on OKA--- 13 typhoons hit us season--10 were on weekends!! We teachers used to route for the typhoons so we get off school but now we are a bit more reserved with our wishes!! tarzana

That's funny I was here last year and it was actually my first year on the island so it was definatly a culture shock. Your right though the weather gods do owe us big so hopefully their won't be as many as last year but if their is let's pray they are durring the week instead of our days off. I was at the Marina weekend before last but just to pick up a couple of tanks. I ended up going to Serigaki beach very nice......I'm quite sure we will end up diving sometime. Don't be a stranger.
