If you want good visibility in Table Rock you need to get a dry suit and dive the Enchanted Forrest and all along the bluff there from about 65-90’ just below the old tree canopies.

I dived at Beaver last summer & it was pretty good as far as lake diving goes. The drive down was horrible...we got hit with a terrible rainstorm with hail. It rained all day & that made it pretty chilly on the boat between dives. Once in the water, though, the diving was good. Vis was better than Tablerock & there were lots of trees & rock overhangs to swim through.

Thanks for the information maybe we will bump into each other at Indian Point Table Rock.

or as some call it, Misery.

Hi All,

I've been lurking on the boards for awhile so finally thought it's about time I should say hello. I've been certified since Sept. of 2000 & have loved SCUBA ever since the first time I went down in the pool. Unfortunately I'm landlocked in MO. But, I am trying to relocate to the south east...just have to find the right job. In the meantime I dive the local lakes. Some are better than others, visibility wise....Tablerock is like swimming in brown gravy. But it's better than the bathtub & we dive where we can, right? Anyway...just wanted to say HI! :05:
glad to see you are here, you can pick up a lot of info from a lot of the divers that post on this board. there's a LOT OF EXPERIENCE and knowledge availible. any way, welcome!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you've joined us, and I share your dismay about living so far from the ocean. I'd move today if it weren't for family ties. The good news for you is that MCI airport has some of the best air fares, if you're close to that? :pilot:

Sad thing is, I really like the company I work for.....but I love diving more, so first chance I get...I'm outta here!

I'm glad to see you have your priorities straight..... Diving comes first......

I dive weekly, or at least try to at mermet springs www.mermetsprings.com it's not too bad. shoot me a PM if you need a buddy, as I am always looking for one to dive during the week. Mon-Thurs..

Thanks....I'll keep that in mind. It'd be a bit of a drive though, since I'm in southwest MO but I've heard mermet springs is good diving so I'll have to check it out sometime.

I usually do fly out of MCI. It's a 3 hour drive but the difference in airfare makes it well worth the drive. For example, when I went to Atlanta last year airfare out of SGF was around $450.....I flew out of MCI for $141. Most of the dive trips arranged by the LDS leave from MCI or Tulsa.

Of course! As my favorite bumper sticker says "The worst day diving is better than the best day working." :D
