HockeyPuck once bubbled...
Wow. Another Ann Arborite. I grew up there (and still consider A2 to be my home ... still live there when I'm not away at school)

Hey there HockyPuck!
Actually I am fairly new to the area but like it so far. Do you happen to know of any Scuba clubs around? I believe there is one in Dearborn but was hoping for something closer. Thought it would be a good way to meet people.

TT-

Hello, there! Just spent 10 years in Ann Arbor, but have just recently moved South. I was taught by Lee Somers, one of the longtimers in scuba & NAUI administration, at the time he was teaching at the University of Michigan. Such fond memories!!

I'm not aware of any scuba clubs in Ann Arbor, but if you will find two dive stores in the area. I'm not connected with either, but greatly prefer one over the other. Don't want to badmouth anyone publicly, but if you drop me a PM (if interested) I'll give some advice. In addition, I can give you a phenomenal reference for an instructor in AA if you choose to further your diving training. He's a little different & very strict/opinionated (and not even DIR!!), but you'll get fabulous training.

Welcome to the board (from another newbie!)

Not sure about any SCUBA in the A2 area. I just started my scuba class this semester (i.e. while I'm in Syracuse, not A2). I know of 2 Scuba shops in the Ann Arbor Area ... one on Washtenaw, and one on Jackson Rd, if I'm not mistaken. Haven't stepped into either one, so I really don't know anything.
