Hey there,
Just found this site and have been reading on it for two days! I was certified about 2yrs ago but have had limited diving since. I started out with one bad experience in Acapulco and an ok one in St. Croix. Heading out to St. Maarten the end of the week and wondering and in of you out there have any words of wisdom for me. I have checked out the previous threads on St. Maarten and I think I am set for dive shops. Any other suggestions you might have for activities on the island would be welcome.
Cheers!

Toro,

Try posting your questions on the Carribean Forum for a better response. I think there are more readers there.

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

Tom from Frankenmuth and Dave from Flint are heading to Gilboat Quarry to dive the weekend of 13/14 September, any interest?

We'll be hauling my 5th wheel trailer down for the weekend, and making multiple dives on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning.

Drop a line if you have an interest in meeting a couple other Michigan divers!

Welcome to the scubaboard from another Michigan diver!

Just wanted to say thanks to those who posted here and those who PM me. Reading all the posts and chatting with a few of you has really got me psyched about my trip to St. Maarten. I leave in the morning and can't wait to get in the water.

Welcome to the board and have a great time in St. Maarten! Been there a number of times myself. Great place to go and dive while your there but not the best place to go for just diving unless you can jaunt over to Saba.

Great groceries in St. Maarten. Very diverse island culture. A friend of mine has a house on the Dutch or south side so we spend most of our time in Phillipsburg where the boat is docked.

You mentioned STX. Going there next month myself. Looking forward to a new experience.

Hope you have a blast in St. Croix- watch out for Crazy Ricky!
Unfortunatly I had just been certed when I went down the last time and only dove once.

Just got back from St. Maarten and it was great. Took a trip over to St. Barts and it was the best diving I've done! Can't wait to get back in the water :)

Wow. Another Ann Arborite. I grew up there (and still consider A2 to be my home ... still live there when I'm not away at school)
