Hi, new diver in East Texas (Tyler area). Starting my AOW this week. Will spend my first weekend at Lake Ouchita and get in as many of my advanced dives as I can squeeze. Looking forward to expanding my dive experiences and am interested in hearing about dive parks and lakes within a day's drive of my home. I'm a single diver, so I'd also be interested in meeting other divers in need of a dive buddy near me.

Hi Twinklez,
Welcome to SB, plenty of Texas divers here on the board, should be able to make some good connections. Good luck on the AOW.

Hi, Twinklez. I think you'll find several of us here that are also on Divelocal. DaddyDandMimi is here, except here she's affectionately known as Foo, as well as myself and several others. You might check out the Texas Swampdivers Forum, there are lots of us there that dive several local mudholes, and you are always welcome to join us. Welcome to ScubaBoard, and hope to see you diving soon.

P.S. I think you've found a great instructor in Steve Lockhart. Stick with him, he has lots of useful knowledge to share, and is a very patient and thorough instructor.

I've love to join you sometime but most countries would fit inside the 400 miles between here and there. How about Cozumel...?

Texas, Ehhhhh ?

All my ex's live in Texas,
And Texas is a place I'd dearly love to be.
But all my ex's live in Texas
And that's why I hang my hat in Buffalo.:eyebrow:

Rosanna's down in Texarcana; wanted me to push her broom,
And sweet Ilene's in Abilene; she forgot I hung the moon,
And Allison in Galveston somehow lost her sanity,
And Dimples who now lives in Temple's got the law lookin’ for me.

I never realized there are so many songs about states.
Welcome to ScubaBoard :D

Did you sing to the new guy from North Dakota last week...? :D

It's different here. Show a school kid anywhere in the world this outline and s/he'll probably know what it is... :yl2jump:

Hello Twinklez and welcome to Scubaboard. We'd love to dive with you sometime at Clear Springs, Athens, or anywhere else around the area you would like to meet. :wavey:

HI there I see that some of the Swamp has already rolled out the welcome wagon. Time for me to jump on. Welcome to the board and please feel free to let us know where and when you plan to dive next I am pretty sure we can find a few people to join you if you are so inclined
