Welcome to the Scubaboard and to diving! You'll meet some great friends and divers on the board from Texas and from all over the world.

Firefyter, I thought your name looked familiar. But you have me at a loss - have you been on one of our dives? have we met? or where you at trashfest?

You're very right about Steve Lockhart, and Darrell Dudley and Dean Pennington as well. (I would be remiss if I did not give credit to Billy, Josh, Kevin and the other Dive Masters that help with classes as well.) I'm very happy with the training I'm getting; I could not wish for more concerned instructors. (And patient...I was unable to swim underwater before my OW class.) I think what impresses me the most is that my training does not stop just because class ends. The folks at Steve's shop are always teaching where ever they are and who ever they are with. :-)

I want to get my AOW done and then dive my little heart out getting as much experience as I can before the summer is over. It's not likely I'll be able to participate in a trip outside the States this year...but maybe for New Years'... :-)

Thank you to all of you for making me so welcome. I look forward to meeting divers from the Texas Swamp Divers club and diving with you as well. I'll post when and where I'm diving and watch your posts - you'll just have to let me know what to look for when I get there; and if it's a dive site that's new to me whatever info I need to be properly prepared...i.e., facilities, etc. :-) Looking forward to a lot of new friendships!

Twinklez:
Hi, new diver in East Texas (Tyler area). Starting my AOW this week. Will spend my first weekend at Lake Ouchita and get in as many of my advanced dives as I can squeeze. Looking forward to expanding my dive experiences and am interested in hearing about dive parks and lakes within a day's drive of my home. I'm a single diver, so I'd also be interested in meeting other divers in need of a dive buddy near me.

Howdy Twinklez! Welcome to ScubaBoard!! Have a blast doing your AOW and give us a holler and tell us how it went! :)
