Hey everyone! I’m Danielle, I live in Denver CO. I’ve been diving for about 9 years but never as often as I want to. I’m making it a bigger priority now and trying to plan at least 2 dive trips a year. The best diving I’ve done so far is Raja Ampat. I’m going to Belize this October so my husband can get his AOW and am hoping to get to Cozumel or Grand Cayman early next year and then hoooopefully October 2026 get over to the Maldives for a liveaboard. Feel free to send any recommendations my way!

We just went to Grand Cayman in May flying direct from Denver to Grand Cayman on Cayman Air. Was terrific. So much easier to get to than flying around the country with multiple stops. Grand Cayman has great shore diving that is perfect for a beginner to get some experience and we also went on 4 days of boat dives with Dive Tech. Both my wife and I did a lot of shore diving in GC to get more comfortable diving when we were just starting out. The shops on the West side always have friendly locals to dive with and the sites have very easy entrance and exit points. Also, GC has great, reasonably priced restaurants. We stayed in a very nice condo on top of Dive Tech that was close to everything. This was our 6th time going to GC.

We went to Cozumel twice in 2023. Loved the cenotes (cave) diving inland. These are easy dives that a beginner could do, they just look a little intimidating at first. Just go to the dive shops and find a private guide to take you. Well worth the minimal cost. Our guide picked us up in his truck at the hotel with our tanks and gave us our choice of cenotes to choose from and then took us to a local hole in the wall for the best tacos I've ever had. Ocean diving around Cozumel usually comes with some pretty significant currents that could be challenging for any skilled diver.

Also, look at Nassau and some of the Air BNB or VRBO condos close to Atlantis. Every dive comes with sharks that we usually don't see in the Caribbean islands that we usually go to.

We also really like Bonaire and Curacao but they take much longer to get to.

Hope this helps

Can you squeeze a last min trip in? There is an amazing trip in Cozumel July 12-19 where they are having the "scuba chef" come in and teach cooking class on grilling like a pro. Also, we are driving the Cenotes and swimming with Whale Sharks.
