are there any "necessary" bc accessories i should bring w/me to Bonaire next month?
:director:
I strongly suggest that every diver carry a safety sausage and storm whistle on every dive, and 4 belt clips in your bag even if you don't plan on using a web belt - $30.
:D

Which shop did you do your OW through?

MY fiance and I went through the Scuba Shack in florence ky. its closer to us than most of the greater cincy dive shops. It was labor day weekend and there were thunderstorms and lightning and a tornado touched down about 12 miles away. that was the first day. the second day the weather was much nicer and tolerable. everyone was really helpful and cool. we saw some rock bass, and a perch i think :-) that was pretty cool, but the water was cold and made us want to hurry up and get out. the shack hooked us up with all the scuba equipment, including exposure suits at no extra charge. We are going to bonaire with the owners and the local guys. aside from the cold water at blue springs it was an awesome experience.

I work in Erlanger so I've dropped by the Scuba Shack a few times. A couple of persons in my office certified with them. I dove with Bret at the pumpkin carving day that the Shack held last October at Blue Springs.

If you ever need another diver to do a local "cold" dive, let me know!

yeah, Bret is pretty cool. Cold water is a relative term i guess ;-). thanks

It's great that you're diving! I envy the spouse/buddy part as my wife doesn't dive (yet?). Since you're in Cincinnati, you might want to drop by the Gavia Scuba Club that meets the 3rd Thursday in Sharonville (details on their web site). The June meeting is next week on the 17th.

I'm not sure if I should ask how your honeymoon trip was or just say "Congratulations" on the wedding. What is the 05/10/2004 date for? Is that 10-May or 5-Oct?

Welcome to ScubaBoard in any case. There's various threads about boat ettiquette particularly with regard to tipping customs in various parts of the world. Just remember to avoid searching for short words -- i.e., look for "tipping" rather than "tip" or "tips".
