Greetings everyone!

I’ve been reading the board for a little bit and I always check the Lobsta Divahs every time I log on. There’s a lot of knowledge here and I appreciate everyone’s comments and insights, so I thought I would introduce myself to the congregation.

I’m a 34 year-old guy from near Hartford, CT. I got certified in September 2004. Scuba training was something I always wanted and I finally had the time and the money to do it then. I’m so glad that I did! When I look back on what I was able to do in the past year and a half I always feel grateful to my instructors for teaching me the skills that allow me to experience the underwater life. I can’t wait until my next dive!

I would like to do more shore diving in New England. I got A Shore Diving Guide to New England by Jerry Shine over the winter and I’d like to try some of those sights. I’m also curious about Kayak diving. I’d love to get into the Portland quarry since it’s so close. New England destinations on my short list are: Isle of Shoals (seals!), Lakes Champlain and Winnipasaukee, the Maine coast and some of the wrecks that are visited from the charters out of New London. I’m sure that other new destinations will be added as I read more about everyone else’s adventures.

I live in middletown and I am always looking for buddies. Shoot me an pm with your email and we exchange numbers.

Thanks for the invitation/command!

Unfortunately, I can't make it this weekend. My wife's going out of town soon and we're spending the quality time together. No, honestly, it's not because of the water temps and the fact that I don't dive dry (yet). We're still newlyweds! ;)

By the way, what do you expect the temp to be this weekend?

(N.E. Diver, I'll send you an e-mail soon. Thanks!)

Congratulations newlywed!......... Bring your wife!... :-)
Waters gonna be cold, period, in the area of high 30's most likely.
Good wet suit diving!

looks like another quary rat
they keep multuplying when ya throw water on them
like gremlins
:)

welcome to the board. hopefully we'll get some dives in this summer when i head back to RI

happy diving

TSBHHarry ... Yes, indeed. I'll surely get over to Rhodie! See you there.

Thanks dbg40. My wife's just a snorkeler now (not that there's anything wrong with that) but maybe not for long. We're waiting to hear about an opportunity that might change that situation!

As far as temps go, high 30s? The coldest I've experienced in my wetsuit setup was 50, and that was fine. I think that I could go colder and I have a new hooded vest, so that might improve things, too.

Diesel........

Only one reply for you...

"No way, eh. Radiation has made me an enemy of civilization!"

Happy diving, folks.
