Hey everyone whats up. This is my introduction I suppose. My name is Mike and i'm a 22 year old from Houston, Texas. I am brand new to scuba diving, a friend just turned me on to it. I have snorkled in Ixtapa and Zijhanteneo but that's about it. I have used SCBA before when firefighting but never SCUBA. Anyway, I look forward to learning from everyone here. If all goes well I will begin my Padi Certification in 2 weeks

Thanks for the welcome. I filled out my profile so everyone should be able to view it now. I am in Houston, TX. I am willing to bet that there are quite a few people in this area who enjoy diving and need buddies...I just don't know any yet I will be diving at the Blue Lagoon in Huntsville for my certification so hopefully that will be decent. I know it won't compare to the scenery of Ixtapa but that will come soon enough

class. No, the Blue Lagoon will NOT compare with Ixtapa but it is a very good place to learn. Make sure you are there early enough in the morning so the visibility is better. I am also in Houston, email me anytime if I can help you. Maria

Maria, I'll email you later after I get certified and stuff. If you are in spring you are right down the road from me. I'm in Humble, and I work in the Woodlands. Do you recommend any LDSs in this area? Thanks.

they do not have a store in Humble, but there is one there and one of the other instructors that works with me used to teach for them, I'll get the name from him and see if he recommends them. I am a Padi instructor and I think one of the reasons he left the Humble store is because they are SSI. Will email you later with more info. Maria (I live behind the Spring highschool).
