Hello, I have been using this site for a while and I finally registered since I wanted to make a post about a very positive experience I just had buying my gear.

I finally decided that renting gear sucks and that I needed to buy my own stuff (only had snorkel stuff) so after countless hours pouring through the posts on this site I settled on what I wanted (that I could afford). First I would like to express my appreciation for all of the wonderful information people share on this site. I look at Rodale's reviews but take them with a grain of salt since they can never be too hard on a manufacturer that advertises with them a lot. This is really the absolute best source of obejective information out there!

The other thing I wanted to mention is that once I decided what I wanted I need to decide where to buy. I read many of the facts and opinions on liesure-pro and decided that they would be good for some stuff but I really wanted a manufacture warranty for my first reg. Anyway, long story short I called Jerry at scubatoys when I liked the prices he had on some packages but they weren't quite what I wanted. Well, Jerry was really great at working with me to get all the stuff I really did want and I ended up paying less than I would at LP so I was very satisfied. Jerry was very, very helpful answering my questions and was very flexible in working with me on price (I think it helped that me and my brother (taylorm007) were buying our gear together. I got all the stuff the next day since I live in Houston and everything was assembled with warranties included( I even watched them packing it up in their store on their real-time webcam!).

Anyway, thought I would share my good experience with this company who I will definitely buy from again.

The name is Larry not Jerry! My bad.

Hello danelen and welcome to Scuba Board. Glad you decided to register and introduce yourself.

Can you tell us more about what gear you bought from Scuba Toys that included the manufacturers warranty?

Rick,

Hello. Everything I bought came with the manufacturers warranty card. They even filled out part of the Dacor one (I assume it must need to be more precise than the others). I bought a Tusa Platina RS-130 Reg w/ a Dacor Viper Octo, Zeagle Escape BC, Genesis Instrument Consol, Henderson Wetsuit and UK light kit (which I now know will fill with water unless you screw the lid down really, really tight!). I believe they only sell things that they are authorized dealers for (I believe they are a full service dive shop) so I think it is normal to get the warranty from them. I live in Houston and they are in Dallas so I can pay UPS ground rates but it still ships next day so I don't think shipping the reg to them for servicing will be too expensive or inconvenient but we'll see when I actually have to do it next year. Let me know if you need more info.

Cheers, Dan
