I've posted a couple of threads in this forum and have just realized that I haven't official said hello. So: Hello!

David
:scuba:

Hello back at you and welcome to the boards!:D

Howdy and welcome to the board yoda4x4:)

I am probably as new to this hobby as almost anyone. I've only gone diving 3 times. Two were part of a Carnival cruise excursion (Intro class) and the third was done by a private party. I don't have my OW certification yet. I'll be taking the classes starting in April and should have my certification by early summer.

I'll be looking at purchasing my equipment prior to taking the classes. Does this sound like a good idea?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

David

WELCOME AND HELLO. HELLO TO YOU AND HELLO FROM ME. I NEVER INTRODUCED MYSELF EITHER. OPPS..I GOT CAUGHT UP IN ALL THE FUN. WELCOME

DAVID,

USE THE EQUIPMENT BEFORE YOU BUY IT. BEG, BORROW, STEAL, TRADE....WHATEVER. DONT MAKE THE INVESTMENT UNTIL YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH WHAT KIND OF DIVING YOU WILL BE DOING...THUS THE GEAR.

GOOD LUCK AND WELCOME.
