You speak truly. I will admit to blowing air up my own boots at depth. Ideas are sometimes like tattoos. Hard to get rid of.
I do think that any persistent application of muscular force is anti-pattern, though. The body does not like it at all, especially a constant and calibrated force. Total (muscular) relaxation is an achievable objective, which IMHO leaves more air for thinking or contingency.
