I dove with heater and light on separate cannisters. Enough for a 6 hr dive off both cans, with some reserve. Both cans had same connectors, so I could switch in case of emergency. I get super cold, even in low 40's. So vest right over some thin UnderArmour stuff, then layered up like the Michelin Tire Guy. Also used argon for suit gas, which worked great if you really flush the suit.
