I'm just interested to know whether anyone has tried using a "standard" HRM to dive in.
I'd really like to use one to monitor exactly what stresses I'm going through specifically for teaching and can't
afford the super all-in model like the Gallileo
My HRM only states "Water resistant to 50m" and the transmitter "Water resistant to 30m" so in all liklihood this is a complete no-no as all the manufacturers say its ok for swimming but definitely NOT for scuba.
But I only want to go to 2.3m and possibly 6.5m in open water and I'm really interested to know if anyone has done this.
After all its only 1.65 bar max or about 24 psi for max 25 minutes but its probably enough to kill it due to the sustained pressure on the seals.
Anyone tried it before I experiment?
