Is a week in each a good split or should I spend a little longer in tofo ?
Heading to Tofo and Protea for two weeks in April.

I have had awesome dives in both parts of the world at that time of year, so you would probably not be disappointed if you were to stick to your current plans. If I was to organise a similar excursion for myself I would try and get diving in some other spots too. So maybe reduce the Protea part and spend time in Umkomaas diving the shoal. Depending on how you are travelling 1,300 odd km between Margate (where Protea Banks are) and Tofo, I would also suggest considering Sodwana for a few days.
I have dived Protea Banks a number of times and have been completely happy with their services, but you should be aware that the main dive operator there has a reputation of being a bit of a cowboy in South African diving circles. The diving, however, is fantastic.
