I'm a Fish!
I had a couple of questions:

1) Is there a reason why charters don't go to Gordo Banks this time of year?
2) Is there any good beach diving? I'm not a huge fan of charter boats (It's a crowd thing) so I'd like to explore my options.

The last time I went, I believe it was Cabo Pulmo (2 hour drive from SJC). I'm hoping for something a little more laid back, and casual. It's not beyond me to just rent some bottles, and whatever else I need, and hit a beach somewhere.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Hello from Cabo. The Reason there are no trips to Gordo Banks is the conditions are terrible this time of year.No vis. bad curents and high winds. There are two Ok spots to beach Dive Santa Maria Bay and Chileno Beach.
We take small groups 4 or 5 Divers on our 40 foot Boat at 8.30am Daily.
We also rent gear but I think you will have a better time if you go with a Dive Master who knows the sites and you will have a dive buddy. We are a PADI Dive Resort #22248 anyway stop by and we can answer all your questions about Diving Los Cabos. BAJA DIVE - Baja Dive SCUBA Diving,Cabo San Lucas,Los Cabos,Sea of Cortez

Cool! Thanks! I guess you guys know Casey? I'm meeting up with him when I get down there. I did some camera work for one of his introduction classes up in Washington State.
