26 days days til we arrive at AKR, Cactus Juice beats all that other stuff. Deet is useless.

Good Viz,
George

Shark dive ... loved it!

Hand held magnifying glass ... To view the small stuff, RoatanMan recommended this on another thread. We brought one along for our Roatan trip this July - it was a good idea. I found a cheep one at Hobby Lobby, but wish it had a little more magnification. Although, I am not sure where to buy a higher powered one.

We stayed at CoCoView, just next to FI. One of the trips CCV offers is a 3 tank boat dive, day trip to the West End, for a little extra per diver. Maybe FI offers something like it. This trip gave us an opportunity to dive some of the West End sites and explore the West End on a surface interval.

October is the rainy season, bring a rain poncho and a slicker/jacket for the boat.

Go eat at Hole in the Wall, the restaurant, during one of the all you can eat days.

They have all you can eat days?!?!!? oh man, definitely going back there! I've been craving their lobster sandwich since I left. Besides I finished reading the book I borrowed from their bathroom so I better go back and return it too. (looking for any excuse to go back to Roatan)

Cactus juice for the sand fleas, deet for the air fleas, sunscreen...

Make sure it's made of glass~ very important. Should be $1 at most any flea market, craft or gun show.

Ummm- the book wasn't for reading. You tear out one page (or more) at a time, and, you know...:flush:

I think you may have unknowingly caused a huge problem. Hurry back.

Thanks for the tip & where to buy ... ours was not made out of glass.

Hole in the Wall ... we tried to find it. Is that the restaurant you get to by "ferry" or boat? That reminds me of a "to do" topside that we enjoyed. On two different trips to Roatan, we hired a cab driver to take us sightseeing around the island on a 1/2 day tour. I requested (through our resort) someone that would be interesting and know a bit about about Roatan. Both times were with different drivers, but they were both quite informative, entertaining and told good stories, modern and historical, about the island. I also liked that we toured the island on our own time, not a scheduled tour, and stopped for as long and where ever we wanted.
