I´m not a diving physician, I´m a haematologist, but I work in the emergency department, and I don´t think that CO2 retention from diving can cause headhache for a week. Except if there is another CO2 retaining cause like sleep-apnea sindrome or any CO2 retaining lung desease.
It could help if you discribe your headache (side, more in the morning or afternoon, with pulse ...) The most frecuent cause of headache in developped countries is stress, and I believe that getting in the ocean for the first time is stressfull, evenmore if you´re ruuning late, and don´t eat. Exhaustion, dehidratation and not eating for a long period can cause long headache too.
Well, I hope your feeling better by now.
Next time try to eat and drink properly, avoid fumes, and breath properly. Cool and Calm.

The headache is still there it is located in the back of the head. It feels like my head is floating. It is like there is a cloud over my head. I am trying to see my doctor today.
