WooHoo.....Congratulations! We knew he'd finally get a 'round tuit! :1st:

That is pretty cool! The totally by surprise asking brings out the emotions better and makes it more memorable than if it were just a formality. Good luck!

Later, Hawk.

Ps. Natasha, that is kinda kinky wanting someone to take a video. Oh........ you mean the wedding! Sorry.

I am very happy for you! What a great Christmas present!!!! I bet it was the heels and wetsuit outfit that won him over! <S> All the best to both of you!!

Congrats Ber,

That is a very, very cool X-mas/Birthday present. Good luck with the planning. And remember, you can have a really nice wedding without breaking the bank. I still have people talking about some of the cool stuff we did at our wedding and they don't believe me when I tell them how much we spent.

Wishing you a long and happy life together.

I am so excited that I got goosebumps!

It has been a little over 7 years since Jeff asked me but like you it was also a total surprise. I actually hyperventilated in the resturant so badly that I couldn't manage to eeck out a yes so I just nodded furiously and he got the message.

I agree with Ladydiver that you can have a fantatic wedding without breaking the bank. I think you pot-luck idea is a great start! Also don't worry about the short engagement and wedding planning. You have plenty of time. I got engaged on 11/11 and married on 4/15. If I had any more time I would have gone crazy and probably strangled my mother!

Best wishes on your upcoming planning and your future together!

KC, after I said "yes" and the hugging stopped he asked how I felt. Honest person that I am I said, "I think I'm going to throw up!" (There were elephants doing jumping jacks in my stomach!):mousy: He just laughed and said, "Not here, please"

The hardest part of the planning will be keeping my SISTER's MOTHER-IN-LAW from taking over! My sister married Nancy's only child and Nancy "adopted" me and my youngest sister too! She had my wedding dress picked out a year ago at Thanksgiving ("Oh, you should wear...") before any wedding talking ever started! I've got a sneaking suspicion she might have started buying decorations! She's really sweet but I'll probably have to get my sister to help me keep her under control!

Thanks everyone! I'll keep you "posted"!

Hey Ber Rabbit,
First, Congratulations!!! Flo and I wish you the best of luck. Believe me when I say that after 10 years of dating and 28 years of marriage, it is better now than when we first got married. We hope your marriage is as much fun as ours.
Second, Like LadyDiver says, the wedding doesn't have to break the bank. The wedding service can be as big or as small as you desire. The main thing is the vows you take before your family, friends and God. The rest is just icing on the cake.
Third, I am convinced that the board had something to do with his proposal. I was reading a greeting (11/05 post) about how you were tired of snooping and wanted to join the board. Now a little over a month later the question is popped. :1st: . Sounds to me like the power of this board pointed cupid in the right direction. So, cupid had a speargun, so what. It worked didn't it? Or maybe it was a combination of cupid, the high heels and wet suit. Very nice.
Good Luck and keep us posted
Burt & Flo

CONGRATS!!!!!! That is just the sweetest thing..on Christmas! All I got was a new computer *sniff* ;)

Seriously...Good luck, best wishes, you GO girl, and all that good stuff! And remember, it is YOUR wedding! Have you considered an underwater wedding??

I am just glad you didn't post this under the "Dumbest Thing I have Ever Done" thread... :tease: Enjoy your new life together!!!
