I just don't log dives
So check this out:

Yesterday was Claudette's birthday. Yesterday we're diving early - I wanted to shoot the acres of squid eggs at Vets Park in SoCal in the daylight with the 12-24 lens. I have lots of night shots, but I wanted to get in during the day when the viz and light was better. Conditions have been ankle-slapper like... so I figgered it'd be perfect.

We get there and we're greeted by 3 footers and lots of wind. I'm thinking this isn't going to be the gin-clear calm day I was hoping for. We push through very ROUGH surf (I got Heismanned back to the sand once before we got in) and head down the canyon towards the falls.

About 5 minutes into the dive, I do what I do best: I find toys. I am the Toy Whisperer. Every couple of dives, I stumble onto toys. Figuerines, squirt guns, shoes, fishing rod parts, pieces of silly stuff - I mean, 'Chica's dashboard is loaded with them.

I look over, and half buried in the sand is a BB Rifle. I'm thinking, "I got the Wide-Zoom lens bolted on, its still daylight, we gotta rifle - oh, yeah... this is going to be good...."

So here it is - HBRedRyderGurl. You can have her gun when you pry it from her warm, blue hands.

Careful, Birth'dette girl - you're gonna shoot your eye out.

Too Funny!!!

Find any "Lite Brite" ?

Evacuate the area, Call Homeland Security. (Only if in Boston)

Nice find ;)

I can just picture some parent winding up and heaving that BB rifle little Johnny got for Christmas in to the briney deep after one to many "incidents"

You two find and see the neatest things. What a neat BD gift.

Oh you KNOW that's just what happened. Some parent who had reached their wit's end flung it off the pier and we found it at 50 feet!

I wonder how many pics were made by others on shore when the commandos exited the water in broad daylight with the weapon...?

I wonder if 911 was called, bur arrived late...?

We actually tossed it back to the bottom after the shot - hoping some of the other people that would go in that night or tonight would find it.

We haven't heard a thing. Darnit!!!
