BTW, interisland flights can be had for as little as $39 each way on Aloha. Just book a few weeks ahead.
And "Go!" airlines -- they actually initiated that low-priced inter-island fare war.

I think I've seen $29 between Maui & Oahu as a possiblity from Go!.

Just noticed the mention of your interest in ecology.

If you're equally interested in the marine environment, check out Mike Severn's Diving. They give a very thorough marine life briefing, I'm told.
