I have been trying to upload some photos and it takes a very long time. The photos never load I receive a page not found error. Any suggestions?

I think maybe they are too big. Can you reduce the size, export them to another folder and try again? Mine get made down to 300 range. Check out Picasa (free Google download) You will love it and it makes a lot of things easier.
